Garden Design and Landscaping
Fronero designs and builds gardens for Brisbane homes, planning around clay soil, summer downpours and hard western sun so the planting still looks deliberate years after handover.
A garden drawn for your block, not pulled off a shelf.
Most yards in Brisbane fail for the same reasons. Wrong plants for the aspect, soil compacted by the build, and drainage that was never planned. We fix those first, then make it look good.
Every plan comes with a planting schedule you can hand to any nursery.
We start with a site survey and a sun study across the four seasons, then map how water moves through your block during a storm. That tells us where beds belong, where paving should sit and what needs a raised profile to survive wet feet.
The drawing package includes a scaled layout, hardscape detail, lighting positions and a plant list grouped by height and water need. You approve it before anyone digs, and we hold the quote for 60 days while you decide.
After the build we return at three months and twelve months to check establishment, adjust irrigation and replace anything that has not taken. That review is part of the fee, not an extra.
We build what we draw, with our own crew.
Fronero does not subcontract the landscaping out. The same four people who survey your block are the ones who set the levels, lay the paving and plant the beds, so nothing gets lost between the plan and the finished yard.
We buy plants from two growers in the Brisbane Valley and check every delivery for root health. If a batch looks poor it goes back, even when that pushes the planting day out by a week.
Fully insured, QBCC licensed and happy to show you a site mid-build before you commit.

From first phone call to finished garden.
Most jobs take two meetings before we start, then a build window of six to ten weeks depending on weather and stone supply.
Walk and talk
We visit the block, measure the boundaries, note slopes and ask how you actually use the yard. Takes about an hour.
Survey and sun study
Levels are taken, drainage paths checked and the four-season sun map drawn so we know where shade really lands.
Concept and quote
You get two layout options, a planting approach for each and a fixed price. Nothing is ordered until you sign off.
Detailed drawings
The chosen option becomes a build pack with setting-out dimensions, materials list and irrigation layout for the crew.
Build on site
Earthworks, edging and paving come first, then services, then soil and mulch. Plants go in last so they are not trampled.
Handover and reviews
We walk you through the irrigation controller and the watering plan, then return at three and twelve months to replace failures.
Gardens we finished this year.
A few jobs from the last twelve months, shot the week we handed them over.
Things people ask before they book.
If your question is not here, call the office and we will answer it straight.
Design work is usually three to four weeks. The build depends on scope and weather, but a standard suburban garden takes six to ten weeks on site.
Yes, though we will check them before planting. Anything root-bound or struggling gets flagged, and we will not put it in and call it a warranty item later.
Walls over one metre need engineering and a building approval. We prepare the drawings, lodge them and manage the inspection so you do not have to chase the certifier.
We replace them free if irrigation has been run as instructed. Damage from pets, mowers or missed watering is not covered, but we will still quote a replacement fairly.
Plenty of clients do the hardscape first and planting a year later. The design already allows for it, so the second stage does not undo the first.
Tell us about the block.
Send through the address, roughly what you want to spend and a photo or two of the yard as it is now. We will come back with a time for the site walk.
Site visits run Tuesday to Friday. If you are outside the Brisbane area, mention it and we will tell you straight whether we travel that far.
We answer enquiries within one business day.
